A quote from Marley and Me, New York Times best seller by John Grogan. "What I really wanted to say was how this animal touched our souls and taught us some of the most important lessons of our lives. A person can learn a lot from a dog, even a loopy one like ours. Marley taught me about living each day with unbridled exhuberance and joy, about seizing the moment and following your heart. He taught me to appreciate the simple things. As he grew old and achy, he taught me about optimism in the face of adversity. Mostly he taught me about friendship, selflessness and above all else, unwavering loyalty.

She has actively helped us with this issue and continues to actively support us. L. Allen Songstad, Mayor Pro Tempore - Has been on and briefly off the city council for 15 years and is not supporting us. Randal J. Bressette - has been on the Council for 15 years. He helped us initially with our efforts to get better animal care services for Laguna Hills and has continued to actively support us. Joel Lautenschleger - has been on the Council for 15 years continously and is not supporting us. R. Craig Scott - has been on the Council for 15 years continuously and has voted against every citizen effort to get a better animal care shelter except the JPA feasibility study with the other cities in So OC who still contract with the old County Shelter. Scott is definitely not supporting us.
***No one new ran for City Council in 2006 so there was no election. Now we need to be actively looking for and supporting candidates for city council and council members who support us for the next election in 2008 when Allen Songstad and Joel Lautenschleger are up for re-election.
